Specialized Treatment Approach
Welcome! I am so glad you are here. Seeking help takes courage, and I consider it a privilege to support patients and families through some of life's most challenging experiences. As a psychologist, I take a present-focused, evidence-based approach to treatment. Whether we are addressing an eating disorder, OCD, anxiety, body image concerns, or challenges related to pregnancy and postpartum, my goal is to help patients make meaningful changes that improve their quality of life.
I value authenticity, genuine warmth, and creating a therapeutic environment where individuals feel comfortable showing up exactly as they are. Patients have described me as approachable, easy to talk to, and nonjudgmental. At the same time, I believe effective therapy requires more than simply feeling heard; it requires a thoughtful plan for change. I strive to balance compassion with evidence-based interventions that help patients move toward recovery and lasting well-being.

My approach is grounded in evidence-based care and specialized expertise in the treatment of eating disorders across the lifespan. I am committed to providing compassionate, individualized treatment informed by the strongest available research while recognizing the unique experiences, strengths, and goals of each patient and family.
When working with children, adolescents, and young adults with eating disorders, I primarily utilize Family-Based Treatment (FBT), also known as the Maudsley Method. FBT is widely recognized as the leading evidence-based treatment for adolescents with eating disorders, and has demonstrated strong outcomes in supporting lasting recovery. At the heart of FBT is the belief that parents and caregivers are a child's greatest resource in recovery.
Rather than viewing families as part of the problem, FBT empowers parents to become active participants in treatment with the support and guidance of a specialized therapist. I provide warm, direct, and practical guidance to help families reduce the influence of the eating disorder, restore healthy eating behaviors and create an environment that supports long-term recovery. I understand that eating disorders often convince individuals that recovery is neither necessary nor desirable, and I help families navigate these challenges with confidence, clarity, and compassion.
One of the most rewarding aspects of this work is witnessing young people reconnect with themselves as they recover. As nutritional rehabilitation progresses and the eating disorder loosens its grip, families often describe seeing their child's personality, interests, confidence, and joy return. Helping families reclaim their child from the effects of an eating disorder is a privilege I never take for granted.
I also have extensive experience treating Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID), an eating disorder characterized by restrictive eating that is not driven by body image concerns. My work with ARFID incorporates Family-Based Treatment (FBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for ARFID (CBT-AR), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). CBT-AR is a specialized, evidence-based treatment developed specifically for ARFID, with exposure-based interventions serving as a central component of treatment. Care is tailored to each patient's presentation and designed to address the factors maintaining food avoidance, restriction, sensory sensitivities, or fear-based eating challenges.
For adults with eating disorders, I utilize Enhanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT-E), one of the most extensively researched treatments for eating disorders. My work is informed by current research and best-practice guidelines, allowing me to provide treatment that is both scientifically grounded and responsive to each patient's unique needs. -
Because obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) frequently co-occurs with eating disorders, I have developed specialized training and experience in the treatment of OCD and anxiety disorders. My approach is rooted in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard treatment for OCD.
Through a structured and collaborative process, I help patients gradually confront feared situations, build tolerance for uncertainty, and reduce compulsive behaviors so they can regain freedom from the disorder's demands. While ERP can be challenging, it is also one of the most effective psychological treatments available. I strive to help patients feel supported throughout the process while remaining faithful to interventions that create meaningful and lasting change.
In addition to OCD, I work with patients experiencing anxiety, perfectionism, excessive worry, and other challenges that interfere with daily functioning and overall well-being. -
Not every patient who seeks treatment meets criteria for an eating disorder or anxiety disorder. Many individuals come to therapy because they are struggling with body image concerns, chronic dieting, low self-esteem, self-criticism, perfectionism, or difficulty navigating significant life transitions.
I help patients develop a healthier and more compassionate relationship with food, their bodies, and themselves. My goal is not only symptom reduction, but also helping individuals build greater confidence, self-trust, flexibility, resilience, and engagement in the things that matter most to them. -
I have a special interest in maternal mental health and supporting women through the emotional, physical, and identity changes that often accompany pregnancy, postpartum and parenthood.
The transition to motherhood can bring immense joy while also introducing unexpected challenges, including anxiety, depression, feelings of overwhelm, changes in self-identity, and concerns about body image. For some women, these experiences intersect with a history of eating disorders or disordered eating; for others, they arise independently.
Whether you are navigating pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, body image concerns, mood changes, anxiety, or the demands of balancing motherhood with other aspects of your identity, I provide thoughtful, evidence-based support tailored to your individual needs. -
I am passionate about supporting not only those seeking therapy, but also the professionals who dedicate their lives to caring for others. I offer consultation services for licensed therapists seeking additional guidance in the treatment of eating disorders, including support with case conceptualization, evidence-based interventions, and navigating the complexities of eating disorder care.
My goal in consultation is to provide thoughtful, collaborative support that helps clinicians feel more confident and effective in their work with clients. I recognize that eating disorder treatment can be complex, and having a space to ask questions, process challenges, and receive guidance can be an invaluable part of professional growth.
I also value providing therapy to fellow healthcare professionals and therapists. This work is deeply meaningful, but it can also be challenging, and those who spend their days supporting others deserve a space where they can receive support themselves. I strive to offer a warm, authentic, and nonjudgmental environment where clinicians can explore their own experiences, challenges, and personal growth while receiving the same compassion and care they provide to others.
